What We Believe
Parents have the awesome responsibility of caring for God’s children. Child dedication is a public acknowledgment of that responsibility. It is a time when you recognize that your child belongs to God, but given to you. This “setting apart” is an act by the parents, a prayerful declaration of the stewardship over God’s child. As the parent, you are declaring that you will do your best to raise your child in a godly home. We as a church are pledging to support and pray for you and your family.
Parents are the key role models for their children, so they play a primary role in the dedication service. We ask that you affirm the following commitments:
Do you commit to be parents with patience, recognizing that your desire to shape your child is a loving act that will require time, prayer, and God in order to produce in your children what He and you hope for?
Do you recognize Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?
Model of Faith
Do you commit to have a personal faith, recognizing your children are more likely to follow God’s path by the model they first observe in you?
Do you commit to creating a stable environment in which your child can mature?
Do you recognize your child as a gift from God and give heartfelt thanks for His blessing?
Do you commit to lead a faith-filled home that honors God in all your relationships and in the choices you make spiritually growing your family?
